Symbiosis EmpowerAI™

Your coach training has a finish date. Your coaching journey doesn't.

Professional development for coaches: a seven-phase framework that continues long after coach certification.

EmpowerAI™ is a seven-phase professional development system that grows with you, from your first class to the legacy you eventually build. Start it while you train, and keep coming back to it as your clients, your practice, and your ambitions change.

One framework for every Symbiosis student, whichever certification you choose. Included with all programs.

The framework

Seven phases. Seven defining questions every coach encounters.

A structured coach development path, from coaching skills and client relationships to building a coaching business and a lasting legacy.

Some questions only matter once you have clients. Others show up when you start a practice, lead a team, or begin to think about what your work will leave behind. Each phase takes on one of them through eight milestones, with the same four resources at every step. Choose a phase to explore it.

Framework map · 7 phases × 8 milestones × 4 resources
Each square is one milestone, and each milestone holds the same four resources.
Phase 01 of 07 · Focus: Self

Discover™

“Who am I becoming as a professional coach?”

The foundations of professional coaching, the ethics and standards behind it, and the coaching identity you are building.

Before coaching becomes something you do well, it has to become something you understand deeply. This phase is about you as the coach: what you bring in, and where your habits help or get in the way.

When it matters mostFrom your first weeks of training, and again whenever you want to revisit who you are as a coach.

Phase 02 of 07 · Focus: Relationship

Connect™

“How do I create the conditions for meaningful coaching?”

Presence, listening, and questioning: the conversation skills that make a coaching relationship work.

Clients do their best thinking when they feel heard and safe. This phase builds the quality of attention and conversation that creates those conditions, session after session.

When it matters mostDuring training and your first client engagements.

Phase 03 of 07 · Focus: Progress

Guide™

“How do I help clients turn awareness into meaningful progress?”

Goals, action, and accountability, so clients turn what they realize into real progress.

Awareness alone rarely changes anything. This phase helps you support clients as they decide what they want and follow through, while the ownership of the work stays with them.

When it matters mostDuring training, and as you begin working with paying clients.

Phase 04 of 07 · Focus: Transformation

Transform™

“How do I help clients see themselves and their possibilities differently?”

Beliefs, perspectives, and identity: helping clients see themselves and their options differently.

Some challenges can't be solved with a better action plan. This phase prepares you for conversations that go deeper, where the real shift is in how a client sees themselves.

Phase 05 of 07 · Focus: Experience

Elevate™

“How do I create a coaching experience clients value from beginning to end?”

The full client experience, from the first conversation to long-term relationships and referrals.

Clients experience much more than your sessions. This phase helps you shape everything around them, so the whole relationship feels intentional and keeps delivering value.

Phase 06 of 07 · Focus: Enterprise

Lead™

“How do I turn my coaching practice into a professional, sustainable, well-led enterprise?”

Business models, strategy, and operations for a sustainable coaching enterprise, including smart use of AI.

At some point, coaching well is not enough to build a lasting practice. This phase helps you think like the leader of a business, not only a practitioner.

Contribute™

“What do I want my coaching work to contribute, and what will endure because I built it?”

Thought leadership, developing other coaches, and the legacy your work leaves behind.

The final phase looks beyond your own success to what your work adds for clients, other coaches, and the profession, and what will remain because you built it.

When it matters mostAs an established coach, and whenever you think about long-term impact.

How every milestone works

Learn. Reflect. Practice. Apply.

How each milestone works: learning, self-reflection, AI-assisted practice, and real-world application.

All 56 milestones share the same four-part structure, so once you know how one works, you know how they all work. Each resource moves the idea one step closer to how you actually coach.

01 · Learn■

Founder Toolkit™

The concepts, frameworks, models, and professional principles behind the milestone. Read it to understand the ideas, not to memorize them.

02 · Reflect■

Professional Worksheet™

Turns the concepts inward with self-assessment, reflection, and decisions about your own practice. There are no perfect answers. The value is in the thinking.

03 · Practice■

AI Accelerator™

25 structured prompts for simulating situations, testing assumptions, and rehearsing decisions with AI. Use the ones that fit what you need right now.

04 · Apply■

Action Guide™

Takes the milestone into the real world: try something with a client, test a decision, gather evidence, and reflect on what actually happened.

A system to grow into

Built for your whole career, not just your training program.

Continuing professional development for coaches, during and after coach training.

The framework is deliberately bigger than any certification. It doesn't depend on which program you enroll in, and finishing it isn't the goal. You use what you need now and come back when you need what comes next.

and back again, whenever a new challenge calls for it

Independent of your program

Whichever certification you choose, you get the same seven phases. The framework follows your career, not your syllabus.

Developmental, not rigid

A coach working in Lead™ may find a challenge that sends them back to Connect™. Moving backward is part of how the system works.

Return as you change

A question you answer today may get a very different answer three years from now. Coming back to it is the point.

AI that helps you think

A thinking partner that sharpens your judgment.

How coaches can use AI to practice, reflect, and test their thinking.

Every milestone includes an AI Accelerator™. Instead of asking AI for answers, you use it to explore ideas, practice difficult situations, and challenge your own reasoning.

  • SimulateRehearse a difficult client conversation before it happens.
  • ChallengeAsk AI to make the opposing case and see whether your thinking holds up.
  • TestRun a business decision through scenarios before you commit to it.
  • ReflectLook back at what actually happened in a session, and why.

AI widens the space you learn in. Your live classes and mentor coaching stay with credentialed human coaches, and you stay responsible for every professional call you make.

AI Accelerator™ · Sample thread
From tonight’s class
What makes a question powerful?
Open, short, and built from what the client just said rather than from what you already suspect. The point is to send attention somewhere the client hasn’t looked yet.
How is that different from a leading question?
Following up
Leading questions carry the answer inside them
“Don’t you think you should talk to him?” is advice wearing a question mark. If only one answer would satisfy you, it isn’t a question. It’s a suggestion you’ve made harder to decline.
Why is that a problem if the advice is good?
Going deeper
Because the answer has to be theirs to survive Monday
Advice a client accepts in the room is abandoned at the second obstacle. An insight they reached themselves has their own reasoning holding it up.
Give me a way to catch it in the moment
Going deeper
Count the words
Long questions are usually advice in disguise. If your question runs past about fifteen words, stop and ask what you were setting up.
Show me a weak version and a strong version
Following up
Same moment, two questions
Weak: “Have you thought about setting boundaries with your team?” Strong: “What are you protecting by staying available?” The first hands over a solution. The second sends him somewhere he hasn’t been.
Now do it for a client avoiding a decision
Going deeper
Applied to avoidance
Weak: “What’s stopping you from deciding?” assumes an obstacle. Strong: “What would you have to give up either way?” surfaces the cost the client is actually stuck on.
What if the client is resistant?
Following up
Resistance is information, not an obstacle
A client pushing back is telling you something about what the topic costs them. The move is usually to slow down and name what you notice, rather than to find a cleverer question.
What would naming it sound like?
Going deeper
Naming it out loud
“I notice we’ve come back to your workload three times, and moved away from your manager each time. What’s in that?” Observation first, then an open question.

Questions

Questions about professional development for coaches

Where to start, how long it takes, how AI fits in, and what it costs.

Do I have to finish the whole framework during my coach training program?

No, and we don't expect you to. The framework is intentionally larger than any coach-training program. Some phases only become relevant once you have clients, start a practice, or lead others. Use what you need now and return when you need what comes next.

Is the framework the same for every coach certification program?

Yes. EmpowerAI™ is the same seven-phase framework for every Symbiosis student, whichever program you enroll in. It follows your development as a coach, not the syllabus of a particular course.

Where should a new coach start with professional development?

Most students begin with Discover™, Connect™, and Guide™, because they are closest to what you are learning in class. Pick one milestone that feels relevant, work through its four resources, and save what is useful to your Professional Coaching Portfolio™.

Do I need to complete every worksheet and AI prompt?

No. Some milestones deserve deep study. Others will simply give you a useful framework, and some won't matter until much later in your career. Each AI Accelerator™ offers a wide range of prompts, and you use the ones that fit what you need.

Is this a course on AI for coaches?

No. It is a professional development system for coaches, and AI is one of the four resources at each milestone. You use it to practice and to test your thinking. Your professional judgment stays your own.

Can AI replace a coaching instructor or mentor coach?

No. Your live classes are taught by credentialed coaches, and the ten hours of mentor coaching required for an ICF credential are done with a qualified mentor coach. EmpowerAI™ supports the learning that happens between and beyond those sessions.

Is coach professional development included in the program cost?

Yes. EmpowerAI™ is included with all programs, at no extra cost.
